Businesses will suffer if Tax Stamp Policy is rolled out harshly – GUTA
An executive member of the Ghana Union Traders Association, Benjamin Yeboah says it is unfortunate that the finance ministry has decided to roll the Tax Stamp Policy even the though there are issues with it.
According to him, industries are still having a problem with production cost which is therefore making them uncompetitive.
The Tax Stamp Policy is expected to be implementation on March 1st, 2018.
“Eligible businesses are respectfully advised to comply with the 1st March 2018 deadline or risk prescribed sanctions under the law,” Deputy Finance Minister, Kwaku Kwarteng said in a statement.
Speaking to Accra based radio station (Eezy News), Mr. Yeboah says businesses are likely to suffer is if the policy is not well-thought through before implemented
He says the purchase of the affixing machine will also be another cost to the affected industries, even though government says it will help.
