Direct funds to local farmers by reducing food importation – Percival Ampomah advises government
General Manager of GN Foods, Percival Ampomah is calling on government to reduce the importation of foods, so that funds can be directed to the local farmers in the country.
His comment comes after the World Bank Country Director for Ghana, Henry Kerali, advised that government should turn its attention to reducing food imports so as to revitalize the Agricultural sector, which can contribute in improving the economy.
Speaking to Accra based radio station (Eezy Fm), Mr. Ampoma says when the initiative is well implemented, it will create jobs and wealth for the people of Ghana.

He says even though successive government have attempted to address the challenges facing the agricultural sector, it should also help in creating the demand pull.
In the creation of the demand pull, Mr. Ampomah says the boarding schools, prisons and other catering service providers should buy foods produced in Ghana.
