GRNMA-Volta Region readies to open their regional celebration of nurses week
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association(GRNMA) – Volta Region, is set to open its nurses week celebration at the regional level at Ho.
The Nurses’ Week Celebration was instituted by the 2nd President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), the Late Professor Ayodele Akiwumi. Since then, it has become one of the the major National, Regional and District Event for Nurses and Midwives in the country. It is celebrated in a Structured manner from the National level to Zonal levels.
The event among other purposes create the opportunity to honour deserving nurses and midwives, address national, regional and district health issues and discuss matters of health concerns at the moment.
The 2020 celebration was launched on 12th May, at the National Secretariat of the Association to make way for the Regional launch. On the 23rd June, the Volta Regional Branch has scheduled to launch their Rational celebration to open way for the Districts’ Week long celebrations.
The event will be chaired by Prof. Fred Newton Binka, the former Vice Chancellor of UHAS. Other dignitaries invited include, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu Constituency and Dr. Timothy Letsa (Regional Director of Health Services), respectively.
The Keynote Address for the day will be delivered by the 8th President of the Association, Madam Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo.
The event will be attended by the Regional Council Members from the 27 Districts in the Region, amidst other delegates and climaxed with Award presentation to Regional Best Nurses for the year 2019 and 2020 respectively.
